. 1st NATIONAL ANTI-TERRORISM CONFERENCE 2009

International Human Rights Observer (IHRO) with its partner organizations has announced its first National Anti-Terrorism Conference 2009 in Islamabad Pakistan in the month of November to promote the vision of Pakistan and its partners against terrorism. The event will discuss the performance of Government against terrorism in Malakand and other areas .It will also be a remarkable platform to debate on the issues of terrorism, peace, IDPs, rehabilitation of victims and future strategy, plane of action to eliminate the terrorism in Pakistan from its roots.

1- AGENDA OF THE CONFERENCE:

  • Terrorism a challenge to Democratically Elected Government.
  • International Responses to Terrorism.
  • Regional Responses to Terrorism: Role of Pakistan.
  • Domestic Dimensions of Terrorism.
  • Socio-Economic Costs of Terrorism.
  • Terrorism and the role of Law enforcement, Pak Army, Civil Society and Media.
  • A National anti-Terrorism Movement a way forward to eliminate terrorism.

2- OUTCOMES

  • Familiarize and motivate common masses of Pakistan to fight against the cancer of terrorism
  • Future Plan of Action.
  • Layout for the National Anti-Terrorism Movement.
  • Developing national responsibility among the people against war on terrorism
  • A clear message to the world that Pakistan condemns all forms of terrorism and ready to take any step to make this world a safe place to live in.

3-PARTICIPANTS OF THE CONFERNCE:

Representatives from different political, religious and civil society organizations including experts, intellectuals, diplomats, donors and high officials from different concerned departments will be the participants of the conference. Number of participants will be more then 150 national and internationally.

4-COLLABORATIVE PARTNERS:

IHRO has decided to request for sponsorship to different national, international organizations, Government of Pakistan and donors for cooperation as collaborative partners to sponsor this most important event.

The Conference will be held in Holyday Inn (Islamabad Hotel) Islamabad on November 18th, 2009 at 10:30 am to 5:00 pm.
