Background:

Terrorism is a global issue and Pakistan is now a days facing the menace of terrorism and its multiple forms. To counteract terrorism, any state is obliged to protect human life and their basic rights. The human rights protection is the effective pre-condition of anti-terrorist strategies. With this belief, International Human Rights Observer (IHRO) Pakistan and its collation partners decided to launch “National Anti-Terrorism Movement” in Pakistan to curb the terrorist movement by involving the masses awareness and supporting the Government efforts to eliminate the terrorism in all its kinds from its roots. This project will be a major break through to promote peace, tolerance and harmony and discourage the terrorism on each and every level in the society through public campaigns, conferences, seminars and printed material.

NATIONAL ANTI-TERRORISM CONVENTION 2009

International Human Rights Observer (IHRO) with its partner organizations has announced its first National Anti-Terrorism Convention 2009 in Islamabad Pakistan in the month of October to promote the vision of Pakistan and its partners against terrorism. The event will discuss the performance of Government against terrorism in Malakand and other areas .It will also be a remarkable platform to debate on the issues of terrorism, peace, IDPs, rehabilitation of victims and future strategy, plane of action to eliminate the terrorism in Pakistan from its roots.
